This course is designed to provide gas operatives with the required knowledge and skills for the correct installation, exchanging, testing & commissioning of domestic gas meters.

The course is aimed at installers and service engineers who are in possession of existing Gas (ACS) CCN1 qualifications and who are seeking to gain access to the MET1 assessment.

The training course content includes.

  • Key requirements for the installation of domestic gas meters
  • Meter exchange procedures
  • Testing & Purging procedures
  • Correct setting up and adjustment of regulators
  • Labelling and Notices
  • Identification of Unsafe Situations

For Initial candidates: All operatives requiring MET1 initial assessment must be able to produce a current valid ACS CCN1 certificate.

For Re-assessment candidates: Must be able to provide a current ACS Core/appliance/element certificate.

Expiry dates: ACS 'Re-assessments' can be undertaken up to 6 months prior to the current expiry date without any loss of time.
