This is a training and assessment programme which covers basic knowledge and understanding of electrical installation and testing skills.
The course is designed for operatives who wish to expand their knowledge of electrical work on appliances and heating systems in domestic premises.
The course is divided into 8 training modules and a range of basic practical activities are integrated within the programme.
All candidates are supplied with a comprehensive BPEC Essential Electrics Training Manual for self-study prior to attendance and as a reference guide during assessments.
The Training modules are:
- Basic Electrical theory and principles
- Electrical supply and distribution
- Legislation & regulations
- Electrical safety
- Basic domestic electrical installation theory
- Common electrical components
- Central Heating systems wiring
- Fault Finding
Particular emphasis is given to the practical element which mainly concentrates on 'Central Heating Controls' and 'Central Heating Appliance components'.
